What is collected

When you ask for the free chapter, the site stores:

your email address
when you first and last asked for the chapter, and how many times
the consent sentence shown next to the form when you submitted it
how you arrived, if the link you followed said so: campaign tags (such as utm_source) and the referring website

Your name, IP address and browsing activity are not stored. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.

Why

To send you the free chapter, and occasional emails about the book, such as when the print edition is released. Your address is never sold or shared for anyone else's marketing.

Where it's kept

On Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. If an email service is used for the book's emails later, your address will be kept there too, and this page will name it.

Payments

Purchases of the Digital Edition are handled by Stripe, which is the seller of record and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. This site never sees your card details.

Unsubscribing and deletion

Every email about the book includes a way to unsubscribe. To have your address deleted, or to see what is stored about you, email support@musictheorybook.net.
